"It is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that syren, till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth." --  Patrick Henry, Speech at the Virginia Convention, March 23, 1775

COMMENT:  With respect to our current mortgage and financial mess, where the hell are the special prosecutors?

COMMENTARY: Arrrggghhh!  Hasn't the Congress done enough to us with our current mortgage and financial mess?  Well, get a grip on your chair.  Democrat Congressmen loaded up the mortgage bailout legislation with billions in earmarks favoring, not the voters, but liberal "activist" groups, AND in at least one case a group that was at the very heart of the sub-prime mortgage fiasco (ACORN):  http://www.onenewsnow.com/Politics/Default.aspx?id=210216

You need to know this about ACORN: (yes, it's worth your time if you care about such things)

COMMENTARY:  I don't know how strongly I can say this but the sub-prime mortgage and financial crisis came about totally, completely, absolutely, 100%, because of actions of the Democrats.  They caused it through a bit of legislation called the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).  Essentially it MANDATED mortgage lenders to make loans in low income neighborhoods and rated them by that standard, and penalized them if they didn't.  Further, it gave community activist groups the right to take mortgage companies to court if the groups wanted the mortgage companies to make more sub-prime loans than they had been.

There had been warnings about the problems the CRA would cause as long as 8 years ago (see the date of the article in the first link below).  The important thing to note is that the CRA was put into effect by the Democrats of the Carter Administration, and it provisions were expanded upon by the Democrats of the Clinton Administration.

Are you unhappy with the way many things are going in the USA?  If you are then let your elected representatives hear from you.  Our nation is a "representative republic."  In other words a nation where our legislators are supposed to represent your wishes, but, if you don't let them hear from you how are they supposed to know what things concern you?  Generally liberals are more group oriented than are conservatives, and tend to be more activist in nature.  That's why things in our country have been becoming more and more liberal in nature, even though conservatives outnumber the liberals.  Remember, our nation only works as our founders designed it to work if the citizens participate in its operation.
