SEPTEMBER 5, 2008

"There is a troublesome humour some men have, that if they may not lead, they will not follow; but had rather a thing were never done, than not done their own way, though otherwise very desirable.  This comes of an over fulness of ourselves, and shews we are more concerned for praise, than the success of what we think a good thing."  -- William Penn (1644-1718), Some Fruits of Solitude,1693

(Which explains exactly what is going on when a legislature votes along party lines.  Nicht wahr?)

Now is the time to work for and promote the election of conservative Congressmen because, without a supportive Congress, the President can do nothing.

Sarah Palin's speech came within a hair of drawing as many TV viewers as did Obamas.  What?  Only a VP candidate, and a woman at that?  Yeah!  Ain't it great:  http://www.thrfeed.com/2008/09/palin-ratings-s.html

Community organizers are unhappy with the Republicans.  John Raskin, a community organizer from Manhattan. "The last thing we need is for Republican officials to mock us on television when we're trying to rebuild the neighborhoods they have destroyed."  Oh really?  Here is an article from 8 years ago that warns of what as going to happen if the abuses of the Community Redevelopment Act continued.  They did, and the result was the housing crisis.  The CRA was enacted by the Carter Administration and was expanded by the Clinton Administration.  The disastrous result is completely and absolutely their responsibility and none other:

Are you unhappy with the way many things are going in the USA?  If you are then let your elected representatives hear from you.  Our nation is a "representative republic."  In other words a nation where our legislators are supposed to represent your wishes, but, if you don't let them hear from you how are they supposed to know what things concern you?  Generally liberals are more group oriented than are conservatives, and tend to be more activist in nature.  That's why things in our country have been becoming more and more liberal in nature, even though conservatives outnumber the liberals.  Remember, our nation only works as our founders designed it to work if the citizens participate in its operation.
