A Thought In Passing:  This is not a comment on the "rightness" or "wrongness" of the situation, but consider this.... if none of the members of the polygamy sect near Eldorado, Texas, were married, but lived exactly as they have been, their living arrangements would not be in violation of the law.  Odd isn't it?
