THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Before we build fences to "secure our borders," wouldn't it be more effective to first remove the biggest reason for illegal immigration; economic opportunity? Of course it would, AND, it would be far, far, less expensive overall to do that by fining any employer who hires an illegal alien about $50,000 for every illegal alien that they hire.
If no illegal aliens were being hired then there would be no incentive to come here and those already here would of necessity have to go back home (or leave) in order to earn an income. Further, it would make it unnecessary to establish a massive bureaucracy to round them up; and to prevent their incursion into the US.
