PERSONAL COMMENT: Generally conservatism promotes the individual and liberalism promotes groups.
In order to give a group some sort of benefit or advantage the benefit or advantage must be denied to those not in the group(s) or else the advantage does not exist. THAT is why liberalism is an ultimately evil concept. Its objectives are NOT inclusive, they are exclusive. Liberalism uses the power of the law to impose separatism.
On the other hand promoting the individual instead of the group is inclusive because doing so included everyone.... it doesn't exclude anyone.
If promotion of the individual is held to its highest standards then liberal concepts can have no appeal because it can offer nothing that all individuals don't already have.
